The Advocate was a gathering place in Berkeley’s historic Elmwood neighborhood. It was the second restaurant from the owners of the critically-acclaimed Comal in Downtown Berkeley. We developed the Advocate's logo, menu system and signage.
We created a custom typeface for the Advocate's logo, which incorporated elements from traditional Craftsman architecture and the Arts & Crafts typography that is synonymous with the city of Berkeley. The resulting logo feels both fresh and timeless, fitting seamlessly into one of Berkeley's most upscale neighborhoods.
Incorporating elements from antique Berkeley postcards, we created an interchangeable set of menus that reference the large format graphic panels on the Advocate's walls.
